A distinctive interpreter of historical keyboards, joining scholarship, virtuosity and a strongly individual recorded voice.
Born in Madrid in 1976, Yago Mahúgo is one of Spain’s leading historically informed musicians. He holds a doctorate from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, awarded with the extraordinary doctorate prize, and a degree in historical keyboard instruments from the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, where he studied with Robert Hill. His work spans the harpsichord, fortepiano and organ, with a particular commitment to the French keyboard repertoire.
